With over thirteen years of professional dog training and program development across multiple states, Rachel brings a wealth of expertise to NEST Pet Retreat. She has built successful training programs from the ground up, has earned international titles with dogs in a variety of sports, and most recently, worked as a service dog trainer for military personnel.
Rachel specializes in making training individualized, engaging and practical. Whether she is instructing group classes, performing a private lesson focusing on targeted behaviors, leading enrichment activities or coaching staff about handling and observed behaviors, her attention is laser focused on the needs at hand and creating solutions. Because every dog is different, her approach is tailored to be curated for each instance and each dog’s needs in the moment.
Rachel offers group training, puppy camp and onsite private training, as well as board and train education for more intensive work. With multiple certifications, her results speak for themselves. In a rewards-based system, pets enjoy the time and learn to work for desired results. Her passion is helping dogs and their people succeed and excel in their relationships with one another both inside and outside of the training ring.
At home, Rachel enjoys training and competing with her four dogs: Beetlegeuse the Dalmatian, Zim the Golden Retriever, Pug Davis the Pug and Sprocket the senior Toy Poodle.
